My Mom

With much sadness, I write this letter too late

For you have passed to glory, and now reside within Heaven’s gate

But still I write to give you Thanks

For how you blessed me, with your unwavering Grace

The day before I married, you helped me prepare

The caterer had canceled, I was blessed you were there

You blessed my union, with your son

And welcomed me as a daughter, with loving arms

You adopted my girls, right into your nest

With lots of hugs and kisses, I must confess.

I gave birth to a son that looked just like you

When they put him on my chest, I exclaimed it was true.

God blessed us with many, and you loved them all

You gave them kisses, toys, and dolls.

You wiped up messes and gave unselfishly

Of yourself and time, to the kids and me.

You listened, instructed, in love you gave

Sharing compassion in very special ways.

You’re missed, never forgotten

Cause your legacy lives on

Especially, When I look into the eyes of my little ones.
