When husbands and wives acknowledge and accept that their marriage is a covenant between them and God, Great things will happen in their marriage.

Consider the following passages of scripture that will help your marriage grow as you apply this principle in your marriage

Matthew 19:4-6 (ESV) 4 He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.

Matthew 19:9 (ESV) – “And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”

Malachi 2:16 (NASB) -“For I hate divorce,” says the LORD, the God of Israel, “and him who covers his garment with wrong,” says the LORD of hosts. “So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”

A Brief Application

Marriage is not just an agreement made between the husband and wife but a binding covenant between the husband, wife, and God. The breaking of this covenant requires God’s approval and not the approval of the husband and wife alone. When you take these terms into consideration you will more willingly look to God to help you with reconciling the issues of your marriage instead of considering divorce as an option.

Move Your Marriage to Greatness with intentional actions that are kind, loving, and respectful.
