Lasting change is mostly like renovating a house or building. To accomplish this  renovation (Lasting Change), the owners must first authorize an inspection by a trusted renovator and then acknowledge the defective areas as they are uncovered.  The owners must then authorize the start of the renovation process and submit to the agreed plans of the renovation process. Once these steps have been accomplished, the lasting changes of the renovation will reveal a house or a building  that the owners will be satisfied with.

Have you thought about asking your Heavenly Father (The Master Renovator) to examine your marriage to see if it stands in need of lasting change (Renovation)? I recommend that you do this, even if you consider yourself to have the idea marriage. Ask God to examine your marriage and bring lasting change to the uncovered defective areas of your marriage that prevents it from being the best that it can be.

Lasting Change Increases the Potential of Satisfaction in Your Marriage

Consider the following scriptures –

Psalm 26:2 “Examine me, O LORD, and try me; Test my mind and my heart.” (NASB)

Romans 12:1-2 “1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” (NASB)

Colossians 3:9-10 “9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, 10 and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him–”  (NASB)

Father as I enter prayer with you today, I lay our marriage before you to ask that you examine it for the defects that prevents (your spouse’s name) and I from having a marriage that is pleasing and satisfying to you and the both of us.

As you uncover the defective behaviors, attitudes, and conversations that hinder our marriage, may we have the courage and willingness to accept them and submit to your plan of lasting change concerning these defects. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen
