When was the last time you spent time listening to something that your spouse had to say to you. Even if you are not interested in what your spouse has to say, you should listen anyhow.  Your spouse needs to know that you care about what is important to them and not just about what is important to you.

The next time you hear your spouse say, “can I talk to you for a moment”

  1. Don’t grumble and act as if they are wasting your time.
  2. Listen to them without judging what they have to say
  3. If what they have to say is a complaint, handle it with care, not anger.
  4. Give them feedback when necessary other than that,  keep silent until you need to reply
  5. Make this a habit that will build a bond of trust, love, and respect between the two of you.

Are you doing your part to show your spouse that you care about what’s important to them?

Let us here what you have to say

Consider the following scripture –

Philippians 2:3-4  3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
