Marriage Devotional Online: Never Assume

Take the following into consideration:

All of us; to include myself, have made an assumption or two that proved to be wrong at one time or another. When this took place, we all should have learned, things are not always as they seem.

So, here is what we should take from this:

Before accusing or blaming our spouse of doing something that they may not have done, we should pray, ask questions, and check the facts before coming to a conclusion.

Consider the following scripture –

James 1:5 “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (NASB)

Proverbs 2:6 “For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;” (ESV)

James 1:19 “This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;” (NASB)

Proverbs 18:13 “He who gives an answer before he hears, It is folly and shame to him.” (NASB)
