Proverbs 2:6 (ESV) – For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;

Proverbs 17:27 (ESV) – Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

A Brief Application

Sometimes you will have to ask God for His Wisdom on how to handle the offensive comments that are made by your spouse. As hurtful as these comments may be, you already know that reacting with your own hurtful remarks will not make the situation any better. Therefore, instead of surrendering to conventional wisdom to fight back, defer to God’s wisdom by asking Him how you should handle the situation and wait for His wise reply. If you follow these simple directions, you can expect that God will do what is best for your marriage according to His infinite wisdom.

Move Your Marriage to Greatness with intentional actions that are kind, loving, and respectful.
