Why Your Way of Thinking May Need to Change

When husbands and wives are willing to change their way of thinking, Great Things Happen.

Your way of thinking or your mindset could very well be the reason why you are having difficulties in your marriage. You react according to how you believe, even when what you believe is known to be false or an illusion by others. We all have blind spots that prevent us from seeing what others can plainly see, especially when certain thoughts, ideas, or concepts that we have has been instilled in our minds over a long period of time.

Therefore, start challenging your way of thinking, especially when your thoughts, ideas and concepts are presenting a problem in your marriage. Don’t be afraid to challenge and break away from the long-standing beliefs as they are proven to be false and unproductive in your marriage. None of us want to find out that what we have always believed is false or an illusion, but it is better to change your way of thinking then to hold on to something that is not helping you or your marriage.

Consider the following scripture –

Proverbs 4:23 – Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. (ESV)

Proverbs 27:19 – As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man. (ESV)

Jerimiah 17:9-10 – 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? 10 “I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

Luke 6:45 – A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

Romans 12:2 – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
