Sharing information with your spouse that is unpleasant or corrective in nature doesn’t have to turn into a shouting match.

You’ve got to agree (or at least give it some consideration) that your approach to these types of conversations are pivotal.

If you come to your spouse yelling, emotionally charged, in a defensive stance, making accusations, and speaking in a negative tone, you can almost guaranty that a shouting match will take place.

The way that you share the information with your spouse makes all the difference.

Take the following passages of scripture into consideration as you think about how to approach and speak to your spouse when you need to share information that is unpleasant or corrective in natureso that the conversation won’t turn into a shouting match.

Ephesians 4:31-32 (ESV) – 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Philippians 4:6-7(ESV) – 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgivinglet your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 4:26 (ESV) – Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
