11 Jan Make Forgiveness A Priority
To continue to carry any amount of unforgiveness, hostility, and bitterness towards your spouse is unsafe for your marriage. These unstable emotions tend to spill over into your conversations and behaviors with your spouse. Therefore; take all necessary steps to rid your marriage of these harmful emotions and ask God to help you with forgiveness.
Consider the following scriptures-
Romans 12:17-19 “Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.””
Ephesians 4:31 “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.”
Colossians 3:19 “Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them.”
Colossians 3:12-14 “ Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”
Romans 13:14 “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.”

Meditate on the following scripture –
Psalm 103:8 “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.”
“Father you know my heart and how it reflects how I truly want to behave toward (enter your spouse’s name). Clean and heal my heart Lord; cause it to be renewed in a way that will allow me to forgive (enter your spouse’s name). Let the hostility, bitterness, and rage of my heart fade away and let your love, grace, and mercy rise up in my heart and control my every thought, feeling, and emotion towards (enter your spouse’s name).
